If you try to open a certain file or folder, the message “Access permission to access this folder has been denied” is displayed and you may not be able to access the file or folder.

This can cancel access restriction by acquiring ownership and access right to a file or folder. To set ownership and access rights to a file or folder, do the following. If you click on a folder to open it, the following message will be displayed.

You don’t currently have permission to access this folder.

Click Continue to permanently get access to the permanent access to this folder.

▼ In addition, if other users who are not users with Administrator permissions, you will be prompted for the administrator’s password as follows.

Acquiring access

▼ Let’s set the access right. First, click Continuebutton below.

You have been denied permission to access this folder.

To gain ccess to this folder you will need to use the security tab.

▼ Or you can set it directly from a folder after clicking the above close button as follows. 1Right-click on the target folder and click 2「Properties」 from the menu list.

▼ Click on the 1Security tab, Click the 2Advanced button.

▼ The Advanced Security Setting of (folder name) will appear as shown below. Click the 1Add button.

▼ Permission entry for (folder name) is displayed. Click 1Select a Principal.

Selecting User or Group

▼ The Select User or Group window is displayed. Click the 1Advanced button.

▼ Click 1Find Now button below.

▼ In the Search Results list, select 1the user or group name to which you want to grant ownership, click 2OK button.

▼ In the「Enter the object name to select」box, 1the user or group name selected above is displayed. Click 2OK button.

▼ Let’s decide/set how much permissions to grant.

▲ User name or group name is displayed in the1「principal」.

▲ In the 2「Basic permissions」item, click the access permissions to allow. Here, you select the「Full control」.

▲ Click 3OK button below.

▼ In the Advanced Security Settings for (folder name) window, the user name or group name, Access in the Permission Entries will be displayed. Click 1OK button.
