If you try to open a file or folder, you might not be able to access the file or folder, stating that the message “Permission to access this folder has been denied.”
This problem can be eliminated by taking ownership and permissions on the file or folder.
To acquire ownership and rights of a file or folder, set as follows.
When you access and click on any of the files or folders, the following message is displayed.
「You don’t currently have permission to access this folder.」
Click Continue to permanently get access to the permanent access to this folder.
▼ In addition, if the “Standard account user” (not the administrator) clicks on a folder to which you do not have access, you may be prompted for an administrator privilege password as shown below.
▼ Set ownership first. Click the1button below.
▼ Again, the following access denied message is displayed. Herefrom, Click 1「Security tab」.
「You have been denied permission to access this folder.」
To gain ccess to this folder you will need to use the security tab.
Alternatively, you can click thebutton above to close it, then set it directly in the folder as shown below.
1Right-click in the corresponding folder and click 2「Properties」 in the menu list.
▼ Click on the 1「Security」tab, Click the 2 button.
▼ The「Advanced Security Setting of (folder name)」will appear as shown below. Click 1「Change」.
「Owner : Unable to display current owner.」
Selecting User or Group
▼ The「Select User or Group」 window is displayed. Click the 1 button.
▼ Click 1 button below.
▼ In the「Search Results」list, select 1the 「user or group name」 to which you want to grant ownership, click 2 button.
▼ In the「Enter the object name to select」box, 1the user or group name selected above is displayed. Click 2 button.
▼ 1“Owner” has been replaced by the 「user or group name」 is selected above. Click 2 button.
▼ Click 1 button to close the properties windows. This setting is over.
You have now taken the ownership of a file or folder.
Access retry to folder
▼ Click the 1button below again.
If you take ownership of this object, and close and reopen the properties of this object, you can run the display or change the permissions.” Message will be displayed.
