How To Clear File Explorer Address bar History In Windows 10

It is troublesome to get to long path in Windows 10 File Explorer, and it takes time in File Explorer. If you enter a path directly in the address bar, very convenient as it can move immediately. Also you can run the command.

After entering the path and navigating to the targeted folder, it is registered in the address bar. Hidden folders and system folders are not registered.

However, as you will see below, every time you enter a path name in the address bar, File Explorer saves a path or commands history entered.

When clicking 1 icon, it displays path of the recently opened files and folders, Commands.

If you want to delete the address bar history and reset the address bar, use the following two methods.



1. Delete directly in the address bar

▼  Right-click in the empty space of the address bar as below, and click 2Delete history.

▼ As a result, you can see that deleted the path and command history.

2. Clear From Folder Options

▼ You can also delete it in the Folder Options Property. Click on 1File > 2Change folder and search options.

2. Clear From Folder Options

▼ Folder Options Property will open. Click on 1General tab and click 2Clear button of Clear File Explorer history item in Privacy section. Click 3OK
