How to delete unnecessary files using Disk Cleanup to increase the capacity of your hard disk

While using the computer for a long time, unnecessary files are stored in the computer such as installation and deletion of various applications, accumulation of data files, storage of Temporary Internet Files etc. when browsing the website on the Internet. As a result, the hard disk capacity often tends to become full by increasing it.

Disk Cleanup is useful in such cases in Windows 7 and 8, and it’s be also equipped with as a basic system tool.

This function increases the free space of the hard disk by deleting unnecessary files, such as deleting temporary files and system files on the drive and emptying the recycle bin.

How to Open Disk Cleanup

▼ First, press Windows + Ron the keyboard to open Run.

Writing「Open:」1cleanmgr in the blank column of the name, and click the 2OK button.

▼ Wait for a while until you prepare 「Disk Cleanup」.

Deleting unnecessary data files

▼ The following dialog box opens. Check 1the unnecessary items to be deleted from the main list below, and click 2OK button.

Cleaning up system files

When deletion of the above unnecessary file is completed, you can delete the 「system file」 which is no longer needed this time.

For example, you can delete 「the installation file of a previous windows version」 created during the upgrade to Windows 10.

As a point to notice here, this file is fairly large in file size, and it is a file necessary for executing 「recovery」when you want to return to the previous OS version from Windows 10, so be careful when deleting.
