How to disable automatic volume control that increase or decrease the volume of the PC

While watching a video like YouTube on Windows, the volume of the PC suddenly increases or decreases. Suddenly the volume gets bigger.

This is because Windows automatically adjusts the system volume.

For example, while playing a game, the volume may be automatically adjusted when the volume is reduced or you are making Skype calls on your PC.

Automatic volume control seems to be a lot of trouble for many users. It is also annoying to manually adjust the volume every time the automatic adjustment.

Many people seem to be suffering from irregular volume control on the PC sound, so we have put together a variety of comprehensive measures. Let’s first disable automatic adjustment of Windows with the following simple operation.




Open Sound Properties

▼ As below, press Windows + R key to open Run, and enter 1control or C:\Windows\System32\control.exe in the text box. Click 2OKbutton.

▼ In the “Control Panel” window, specify 1View by: Large(small) icon and click the 2Sound.

▼ Or, As shown below, Press Windows + Rkey and open Run. Enter 1mmsys.cpl in the text field, click 2OK button.

Changing the “Sound” setting

▼ The “Sound” property window appears. Click the 1Communication tab.

The default setting is “Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%”, which is replaced by 2Do nothing“. Click 3OK or Apply button.

If there is no effect.. Set the “Speaker”

▼ If the irregular volume is not corrected by the above setting, please try the following method.

In the Sound window, select the 1Playback tab.

Select 1Speakers/Headphones“, click 2Properties button below. Or, right-click on the displayed “Speakers/Headphones,” and click 3Properties“.

Still no?… then “Recording” Setting

▼ In the same “Sound” window, select the 1Recording tab. Right-click on the empty space, and click 2Show Disabled devices.

In “Device Usage:“, “Do not use this device (disabled)” is the default setting. Click at the right end, and select 1Use this device (enable)” to switch it. Click 2OK button.

▼ When you return to the “Recording” tab again, you can see that the “Stereo Mix” status is changed to “Default Device” from “Disable”.

Right click on 1Stereo Mixer” again and click 2Properties button.
