You can customize icons displayed on the Taskbar for easy use. In the taskbar, the icon of the application to be used mainly and the notification area are arranged, are not particularly different from the previous version.
The most notable difference in Windows 10 is Cortana, the newly added voice assistant service. There is no problem with using the default setting of the task bar, but you can hide unnecessary items by the user’s preference or set it to be easy to use.
Show and hide Cortana on Taskbar
Cortana is a new feature added to Windows 10. It is a virtual assistant like Apple’s “Siri“. Here, we will just describe only how to display in the task bar.

2 ▼ Task View: Click this to display the currently running applications and windows on the screen. Select one of the applications you want to display.
To display or hide the above Cortana on the Taskbar, you can set it easily by right-clicking on the task bar and clicking as follows.

2 Repeatly clicking “ Show Task view button“, It will be Shown or Hidden.
3Clicking “Show touch keyboard button“, the following 1keyboard icon will be displayed in the notification area. “Touch keyboard” is used for entering text on a Tablet PC. It is unnecessary when it is not a touch screen.
When you click “Touch keyboard button” in the notification area, the following keyboard screen is displayed.
Quick Launch toolbar is shortcuts of applications used repeatedly, that are displayed mainly in the notification area on Taskbar.
Although it is the same concept as the shortcut icon on the desktop, when the shortcut icon can not be seen by multiple applications runned on the desktop, it is possible to launch the application easily from the Quick launch toolbar.
▼ To add “Quick Launch” to the task bar, right-click on the taskbar and click “Toolbar” > 1“New Toolbar..“.

▼ The “New Toolbar” window will be displayed. type 1“shell: quick launch” in the text box of the folder and presskey. Then it is changed to 2Quick Launch, and click on 3 button.
▼ As a result, “Quick Launch” toolbar is displayed in the notification area as follows. You can add a shotcut of the application you want to quick start at any time.
Move Quick Launch toolbar
Clicking 1Lock all taskbars from the above Context menu, you can unlock taskbar and move the Quick Launch bar to the left as below.
▼ Drag 1arrow icon on the Quick launch toolbar from the right to the left. To move next to the Task View, Drag 2 arrow icon on the Quick launch all the way to the left.
▼ After Moving it, 1right-click on the Quick launch toolbar and uncheck 2Show Text.
